For this assignment, our teacher assigned us more vocabulary words to define. This is part 2 of the medieval vocabulary. He assigned us 30 more vocabulary words. Most of these words were used in the video called, Castle by David Macaulay. Thanks to the video, I know some words that our teacher assigned us.
town: a thickly populated area, usually smaller than a city and larger than a village, having fixed boundaries and certain local powers of government.
charter: a document, issued by a sovereign or state, outlining the conditions under which a corporation, colony, city, or other corporate body is organized, and defining its rights and privileges.
guild: any of various medieval associations, as of merchants or
artisans,organized to maintain standards and to protect the
interests of it's members, and that sometimes constituted a local governing body.

guildhall: a hall where a guild or corporation usually assembles
journeyman: a person who has served an apprenticeship at a trade or handicraft and is certified to work at it assisting or under another person.
apprentice: person who works for another in order to learn a trade.
merchant: a person who buys and sells commodities for profit;
dealer; trader.
barter: to trade by exchange of commodities rather than by the use of money.
carpenter: a person who builds or repairs wooden structures, as
houses, scaffolds,or shelving.
cobbler: a person who mends shoes.
glover: one that makes or sells gloves.
blacksmith: a person who makes or repairs things made of iron (such as horseshoes).
tinker: a person who in the past traveled to different places and made money by selling or repairing small items (such as pots and pans).
potter: a person who makes pots, bowls, plates, etc., out of clay : a person who makes pottery by hand.
cooper: a person who makes or repairs wooden casks or barrels.
wheelwright(wheeler): a maker and repairer of wheels and wheeled vehicles.
tanner: makes leather.
weaver: one that weaves especially as an occupation.
baker: a person who makes and sells bread, cake, etc.
butcher: someone who cuts and sells meat in a shop.
inn: a house usually in the country where people can eat and rent a room to sleep in.
tavern: a building that provides lodging and food for people who are traveling.
barber: a person who cuts people hair and also heals people by bleeding out the bad humors.
fuller: one that fulls cloth.
miller: a person who works in or is in charge of a flour mill.
brewer: to make (beer, ale, etc.)
stable: a building in which horses are kept, fed, and cared for.
craft guild: an association of workers of the same trade for
mutual benefit.

merchant guild: A merchant guild was a local association of merchants directed towards international and inter local trade. Merchant guilds were very similar to craft guilds, but distinguished themselves in a few notable ways.

wattle and daub: wattle is a fabrication of poles interwoven with slender branches, withes, or reeds and used especially formerly in building while a daub is to put something on something with quick, small motions; it is mixed with cow tongue, dogs, mud, and straws.
